Cottage Regrets

A few weeks ago I purchased the greenleaf Orchid kit from Hobby Lobby. With the 40% off that brought the price (with shipping) down to $30. A great deal. And with the price so cheap I thought I’d try bashing the kit to make it bigger and have more of a cottage look and feel to it that I was envisioning.

It did not end up working quite like I wanted it to. It started off well enough, cutting the front and extending it forward and to the left. I used chipboard for the extensions.

I got to the right wall and got stuck. Glued a wall that I made and it worked. But then tried to cut the wall that came with the kit and it broke. The wood in these greenleaf kits aren’t the best for alterations, the wood splinters a whole lot. So full on cutting didn’t go well.

I ended up scrapping it. It’s been disposed of.

I’ve been searching for another house to fit my vision of a spring cottage. (Im still working on the Fairfield but want to also work on a 1:12 house) Today I found it.

Itll come next week. I think it’ll be the perfect house for what I’m envisioning. I won’t have to do much alteration since it’s already architecturally what I was looking for. I’m excited for it to get here and to start working on it!
