So I decided to take out the tile from the bedroom. Here’s how it looked before:

I found a beautiful grey wood tile at Home Depot that I thought would be perfect. And ultimately was. It was darker than the original but also had the wood grain look that I found more ascetically pleasing that the original tile I had put down.

For this preparation I first cut the tile following the lines of the parquet style. Each of the four long sections were 8 inches in length and 4 inches wide while the middle was 4 inches on each side.

So, I decided to keep the length of the floorboards at 4 inches, and cut the width to 1/2 inches. A little bit longer than the hallway and living room.

The end product after being laid in the room. I’m SO glad I decided to take out the original tile and replace it!
