I purchased a tile from Lowes for the bathroom which I cut to fit into the room. It wasn’t long enough which meant some finagling. Well, I did this and I ended up not liking it and decided to ultimately remove it and start over. Seeming to become a theme as I continue to go forward.

The best lesson on flooring I’ve learned thus far was from the hallway flooring prep and installation. How to properly use the cutting mat to help cut the tiles evenly. So I bought a new tile for the bathroom from Home Depot. It is thinner like the hallway tile. It also had more of a marble look to it.

So to prep this I began by cutting the tile into 1 inch strips.

From there, using the cutting mat as an outline, I cut the strips again to make 1 inch by 1 inch mini tiles. They basically looked like miniature versions of the original tile. I used sand paper to smooth the edges.

The next step was installation. Carefully laid out the tiles into the bathroom. Making sure to fit them before using the back adhesive to stick them to the floor.

I love it!
