I started construction of the Fairfield over the weekend. I’m taking my time with it since its a smaller scale. Smaller scale means less room to work with when decorating. Saturday and Sunday consisted of a lot of sanding. I want the walls to be as smooth as possible before adding paint. The first thing I painted were the ceilings. In the last two dollhouses I admittedly never got around to painting the ceilings. I also painted some of the walls. I made a trip to Lowes for some paint, but I’m also using paint from past builds as well.
I’ve been putting the house together but not yet gluing. Theres a lot of steps to this house and I want to make sure its as perfect as possible before gluing. There was a fire place in the kitchen, I’ve removed that by sawing it off. I also am going to use different stairs.
While I wait for the stairs to arrive I plan to focus on the kitchen. I am going to try my hand at making my own furniture. Hopeful that it’ll turn out well!
