I’m glad I used vinyl tiles versus wood and stains. There was a learning curve with learning how to cut the tiles but once you get the hang of it then its pretty simple. It was less steps to cut and lay. I think staining would have been really tedious.
Flooring Tips:
- Utilize a cutting mat and metal ruler for clean and straight cuts
- “Dry Fit” each row before removing the plastic and sticking the tile down, make sure it fits next to the previous tile so there will be little or no gaps
- Sandpaper is your friend
- Take your time. Prep is time consuming but the more time spent cutting and making sure the cuts are straight means less time having to fix things when laying the tile into the house.
