Wallpaper #2

After wallpapering the hallway I tackled the kitchen. I’m glad I did the hallway first as the kitchen was bigger and needed more maneuvering with the paper.

The pretty pineapple wallpaper I chose for the accent wall in the kitchen was JUST shy of fitting the entire wall. Which meant adding some of the wallpaper from the other two walls on the side so that the white would not show.

I was worried that the yellow on the sides would look awkward. But once the side yellow wallpaper was added I think it comes together. I can barely notice. Once again I’m going to wait until it drys to cut out the windows. But I’m really happy with the accent wall and color of the kitchen!

Wallpaper Tips:

  • If the wallpaper is longer than the wall, fold the corners for a cleaner look.
  • If you know that the room is going to have a baseboard/crown molding, cut the paper a little bit shorter than the wall so it’ll fit flush against the wall.
  • Put glue mixture on both the wall and the back of the paper.
  • Paste from the bottom up, smoothing out the paper as you move up. I didn’t do this in the first paper I pasted and now there are some bubbles. Can’t really see them but I know that they’re there.
