I finished the staircase! Which was easy enough and very satisfying to see once finished. I think this was the most fun part to construct thus far. (More pics on my Instagram @miniaturemoments__)

On the right side of the staircase is where the bannister goes. And that’s where the mistake comes in. After a 12 hour day at work my 9pm brain glued the bannister on the wrong side of the stair case. *face palm* And set it to dry over night. I woke up the next morning and quickly realized the mistake and quietly panicked to myself.

Then my 630am brain, at this point, decided to pry the wood apart using an exact-o knife. Yes, a very dumb idea in hindsight seeing as I had other tools at my disposal that could have been used. But I quickly realized this once I had sliced my thumb! Not too deep of a cut but painful all the same. I thought I was being as careful as I could be but gorilla glue really works at keeping things together. On the plus side I was able to get the wood apart. It broke a bit but I’m confident that it’ll still look good. Set it to re-dry, this time on the correct side of the staircase!

Lessons Learned – NEVER use an exact-o knife for anything other than cutting & ALWAYS double check before letting glue set!
