Welcome

Welcome to my blog! I’ve decided to embark on a journey into the miniature world as a new hobby, one I’m very excited to begin. With this blog I hope to share the progress and the excitement as a begin my first dollhouse, and possibly the ones that may follow it.

Why A Dollhouse?
Backstory: When I was much younger (8/9?) my mom worked for someone who built a dollhouse. It was breathtakingly beautiful. It was HUGE and amazing. I was told I was not allowed to play with it, because it was very expensive and took a long time to complete. So naturally as a child I decided to play with it anyway (very carefully). Even at that age, I was captivated by the effort put into the wallpaper, the flooring, the furniture. It was so much fun to examine and play with. I believe I was the only person to ever actually play with it before it was later moved to storage. I only have fond memories when thinking about that dollhouse. I hope with the building of my own dollhouse that I can create more moments that I can look back upon fondly.

I settled on beginning my own dollhouse after about a weeks worth of research. I’ve been looking up different houses, techniques, wallpaper, flooring, furniture and more. And getting more and more excited with every search. After the research I decided to purchase “The Willow Dollhouse” by Greenleaf Dollhouses! I’m very excited to get started and share the journey as it unfolds.
